Gelato is not a new concept for those native to Italy- this renowned has been enjoyed internationally for over 2,000 years. Simona Faroni and Guido Tremolini came from their native Italy over 13 years ago with a dream to start manufacturing the delicious dessert in the United States. However, there was one problem, neither one spoke English. And neither was prepared to face the rules, laws, regulations or cultures attached to America. It seemed as though their challenges were only getting worse... To make authentic Italian Gelato, the couple had to import the necessary machinery from Italy. During the final inspection, the US Department of Agriculture declined approval because it didn't meet code and recommended they dispose of the machines. It took the couple 14 months to learn English and get the machinery up to code and approved by the Department of Agriculture and Food and Drug Administration (FDA). They were the first company in FDA history to obtain an approval for Italian equipment designed exclusively for Gelato production. Simona and Guido now own and operate a 26,000 square foot facility where they manufacture and distribute gelato and sorbet nationwide under the company name of G.S. Gelato. They also just launched their regional developer program for their franchise division, San Gelato Cafe. San Gelato Cafe has three existing franchises in the local area; San Gelato Cafe in Silver Sands Factory Stores in Destin, San Gelato Cafe on the Beach on the Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island, and San Gelato Cafe in Fort Walton Beach in Longhorn Plaza. Simona and Guido's mission is to bring customers the most authentic gelato and sorbet, offering the gift of a pure Italian experience. At G.S. Gelato, innovation merges with tradition. All the principles of authenticity are in pure synchrony with modern technologies to ensure supreme quality and safety of all the great products we manufacture. Quality is our obsession... Commitment is our life... Passion is our secret ingredient.
